What is the "Earn & Learn" program all about?
Earn & Learn is a wonderful support and mentoring program for mothers and their families. The support includes:
• Educational Resources on Pregnancy, Caring for your Baby, Parenting, Safety, Budgeting and so much more.
• Regular visits with your Parent mentor who will help design a program just for you and is available to answer any questions or concerns you may have about anything at all!
• Earn "Mommy Dollars" or "Daddy Bucks" to buy maternity clothing, baby clothing and other need items for baby
• Community Referrals
What happens at my appointment?
During your appointment, you will meet with a Parent Mentor who will taylor a learning program to meet your specific needs, get you started on your lesson for the day and provide additional materials and supplies for you.
How do I earn "Mommy Dollars" or "Daddy Bucks"?
• Attending scheduled appointments
• Watching videos and attending classes on pregnancy, parenting, caring for my child and many other subjects
• Bringing in proof of well-child check ups or vaccinations
• Volunteering in the community
• Attending job training courses
• Donating new or gently used clothing or baby equipment
What is required to enroll in the Program?
• You must be pregnant or have a child under the age of 2
• Appointments are scheduled in advance - if you are unable to keep your appointment, you must give at least 48 hours notice by phone (760) 568-2200.
Why do you offer this program?
We recognize the importance of responsible parenting and want to encourage young parents through education and mentoring. We want to welcome them and let them know that they are not alone and that they can rely on us for help with resources and emotional support. Participating in the "Earn & Learn" program benefits and enriches the lives of both children and their parents.
